Java breeders

Larry J. Smith of North Carolina has started a chat group for Java enthusiasts, http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Java_Chickens/.
This group of Javas is at Garfield Farm Museum in La Fox, Illinois, www.garfield.farm.com. The museum has been active in restoring this historic breed. Thanks, Larry, for giving Java people another way to connect.

Very nice to see the photo of Larry's beautiful Java chickens. I have 35 hens and 5 roosters. Of these 2 mottled, and 5 black are from Larry's stock. The rest is out of Garfield Farm stock. I have expanded my pasture and housing for the larger number. They are laying very well, even with the cold weather. I really love this breed! Such a joy to work with, and the eggs make wonderfully rich cakes and omelets!
